Choose a cable tray
without guessing the fit.

Before comparing products, check the desk edge, usable space, and fastening method. A tray that looks right in a picture may not suit your desk.

Do these three checks first

01 / EDGE

Look at the attachment area.

Measure the desk thickness where the tray would attach. Note a beveled edge, apron, drawer, crossbar, or other obstruction. Compare those observations with the attachment’s stated requirements.

02 / SPACE

Measure the available space.

Record the available width, depth, and clearance below the desk. Include the things you want to hold and the space needed for their cables. Check the tray dimensions and its rated limits rather than estimating from a photo.

03 / FASTENING

Read both sets of instructions.

Compare the tray’s fastening instructions with the desk manufacturer’s restrictions. If you cannot verify compatibility, ask the manufacturer before buying or attaching anything. This concept drawing is not an installation guide.

The matching original Pin concept shows the same three checks: edge, space, fastening, with an example commission disclosure and no-live-offer label.
The checklist answers the Pin’s question before introducing a product.

Compare the attachment before the appearance

Attachment typeQuestion to verifyInformation to record
ClampCan the clamp seat in the available edge area?Permitted desk-thickness range, clamp dimensions, edge-shape restrictions, clearance.
Screw-mountedDoes the desk manufacturer allow that fixing method?Desk material and thickness requirements, fastener specifications, drilling instructions.
Adhesive-mountedIs the surface and intended load permitted?Surface preparation, cure time, load rating, removal instructions, possible finish damage.

Check the exact product and desk instructions before choosing an attachment.

SAMPLE PRODUCT SECTION

What to include in a product recommendation

Name the exact model, link to its specifications, and explain which desks it fits. Say whether you have used it yourself. Check the current price, availability, and limitations before recommending it.

  1. Evidence: model, manufacturer instructions, measured or documented dimensions, and date checked.
  2. Fit: which recorded desk conditions match, and which remain uncertain.
  3. Experience: what was actually tested; if none, state that clearly.
